My personal comments:

I believe teachers who apply these five standards of the  National Educational Technology Standards (NETS), will be successful when educating  the students on technology.I think these standards can apply to all students, including students with impairments. There are many perks in having computer access and being familiar with the way technology can be used. Following these standard at a young age will really prepare the student's for the real world and properly inform them about the importance in technology. They will become familiar with using a computer and it's functions. After reading these standard I feel that I will follow these standards inside my classroom in the near future. I would like to have my students well educated about the most recent and important technology, because I don't want them to ever fall  behind on my account. Many college students have never sent an email, used a program on Microsoft, or written a blog before. Teachers should become educated on the uses of different technology in the world, so they will be able to better assist students in the classrooms.  That's why it is important to follow these standards and start implementing them inside the classrooms. There are many advantages with using technology and when taught properly to the students this will help them develop the proper tools needed in the real world. Basically, there are so many programs designed for the students to help them have  a better, and wider understanding  of technologies uses. I think that applying these standard inside the classrooms will better prepare the students for a brighter future.

I'll Teach You!

                                                           Introduction About Me!

My name is Elizabeth Murray and I am currently a student at the USM Gulf Coast campus. I am twenty-eight years old. I currently live in Gulfport, Mississippi. I have a playful, sweet, and smart, two year old dachshund, Riley Jordan. Every time I walk in my house  he is there to give  me the best welcoming that I could ever ask for. Also in my life,  I have a wonderful mother named Marilyn, an older sibling named Ban, my fiancĂ© Larry, and great family and friends. I am employed by the Hard Rock Casino and have been, since 2007. I enjoy my job, but I am going to love teaching, while  making a positive difference in children's lives everyday. I do great balancing everyone and everything important in my life. Some hobbies I have are visiting with my friends, taking outside walks, swimming, decorating, being crafty and creative, browsing the Internet, and did i mention I love being outside on beautiful days.
Becoming a teacher is something I have been working extremely hard on for the last few years and will eventually conquer. I want to learn everything there is to learn about properly educating the students. I would want to become familiar with the resources out there, and learn the best teaching strategies for when I do start teaching. I am somewhat familiar with school policies, schools procedures, curriculum's,  frameworks and technology used in education.I will love to teach lower elementary students, I have been fortunate enough to have some school experience working with Kindergarteners, first, second, third, and fourth grade students. They were the best! I am also interested in working with kindergartner's  and first graders too. Another goal I set for myself was to make A's and B's these next couple semesters. From here on out I want to absorb everything there is to know about education, so this will be my main focus or current goal in life.

I would say that my experience with using computers is average, maybe higher at times. I am most familiar with  Microsoft  programs. There are many benefits that  Microsoft programs offer. I enjoy using Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel. I have some difficult with using Microsoft Access, but it is nothing I can 't conquer with some practice. I have never really needed to use this program until recently.

Programs like Microsoft programs will be very beneficial when I become a teacher. These programs  allow so many different features for the users. There are many other benefits offered when using  programs like Microsoft. I think technology use for students will advance them in many ways. The writing and reading should not be replaced by computers. I still think the best way for young student's to learn writing is on paper. Although, learning how to type and reading materials on Technology has come a long way, and will become more advanced in the future. Using these programs and becoming familiar with all of this new technology should bring everyone great excitement and hope, for the near future in technology.
